• The @build_on_bob Hybrid L2 vision paper outlines a plan to make Bitcoin central to DeFi by combining Bitcoin’s security with Ethereum’s capabilities
• The Hybrid L2 model allows Bitcoin to be used securely in DeFi without relying on multisig bridges or centralized exchanges, using BitVM to create trust-minimized bridges backed by Bitcoin's security
• BOB’s roadmap includes: launching as an Ethereum L2, integrating Bitcoin finality for a secure BTC bridge, and eventually transitioning to a Bitcoin rollup to fully secure DeFi applications
Shuttle Labs Raise
• Shuttle Labs has raised $6M to support @GeniusTerminal, a platform for easy cross-chain token purchasing, with no address or gas management required, using simple on-ramps like Moonpay
• Unlike complex DEXs, GeniusTerminal aims to deliver a seamless experience like centralized exchanges but fully decentralized
• Users can log in with social accounts and manage assets across multiple chains, including BTC, TON, SUI, COSM, EVM, and SVM
• The platform, built with Lit Protocol, also enables developers to create decentralized cross-chain dApps, serving as a universal UX layer for DeFi
Hanafuda
• @HanaNetwork’s Hanafuda is a card game where players deposit cryptocurrencies like ETH or USDC to earn points and Hanafuda cards
• Players can form teams, or “Gardens,” to invite others and pool deposit counts, increasing their collective rewards
• Through a feature called “Grow,” participants earn random points with each attempt, influenced by deposit count, and can earn bonus points from members’ activities
• Garden Rewards, based on combined deposits, are used to obtain Hanafuda cards, which players use to create hands and compete. The leaderboard tracks the top 100 players, with special ranks for early users. Players can also earn bonuses by sharing game activities on social media
Introducing VAPE
• @puffpaw_xyz introduced $VAPE with 15% of the total supply being used as bribes for @berachain validators to direct emissions to Puffpaw pools
• Puffpaw integrates with Berachain’s Proof of Liquidity (PoL) to create Reward Vaults providing incentives for the community allowing users to earn rewards
• Users can earn $VAPE and $BGT by providing liquidity to the pool. The initial vault will include a VAPE/BERA pool
Vela Exchange Sunset
• @vela_exchange announced that they will be winding down their retail operation beginning October 24 and will be shutting down the Vela dApp on October 31
• Traders will no longer be able to open new positions on the Vela Exchange and any new positions must be closed before October 31. The team encourages traders to close their positions in the next 48 hours from the announcement, before VLP unlocks to guarantee execution. User withdrawals will continue as usual
• VLP holders and stakers will be locked for 48 hours from the announcement date and will have withdrawal fees reduced to 0% on October 26
GRASS Airdrop One
• @grassfdn announced that GRASS airdrop one will take place on October 28
• The $GRASS token will be used for token buybacks and be used as network fees, participate in staking to secure the network’s infrastructure, reward users for their contributions to the network and give users access to governance
• Users will have to accumulate at least 500+ Grass Points and linked their wallets on the Grass dashboard before October 14
